Llewyn Sheep

Lleyn Sheep

Our pedigree flock of Meiklebob Lleyn Sheep, has around 200 breeding ewes. We chose the lleyn breed because we wanted a breed that needed little shepherding, reared lambs naturally, without concentrated feeding, tremendous mothering ability, prolificacy in lambs reared, and longlivity. And we have not been disappointed.

Our flock selection criteria

  • Only Scrapie 1 rams used on our breeding flock Females selected to conform true to breed characteristics, good teeth, feet, and legs, good skins of dense high quality wool.
  • Females are selected for breeding performance, milking and maternal traits, which ensures strong, long lived, ewes that are easy care.

Our flock

  • is a member of the National Scrapie Plan
  • is MV Accredited
  • is a member of Scottish Quality Beef and Lamb
